Select Trip Highlights

  • Spend 8 days running across three countries — start in Venice, run the Julian Alps and the Vipava wine country of Slovenia, and finish on a Croatian island — with the greatest running couple who have ever lived.
  • Run the emerald Soča River from its headwaters, singletrack tracing water so clear you can count the stones on the bottom, with a riverside picnic and an afternoon of whitewater rafting to follow.
  • A short morning run to a hidden grotto waterfall deep in the Soča valley — and a plunge into its ice-cold pool for those willing.
  • Climb Nanos, the massif that walls off the Vipava Valley, where the trail tops out on open ridgeline with views stretching to the Adriatic — then descend straight to a family-run mountain hut for a long lunch.
  • An early-morning loop through the vineyards of the Vipava Valley, rows of vines and stone villages in every direction, with breakfast waiting at the farmhouse when you’re done.
  • The signature long run on the island of Cres: 12 to 18 miles of coastal trail beginning in Lubenice, a 4,000-year-old village perched 1,200 feet above the sea and ending at our farmstay hotel.
  • An afternoon on a private boat off Lošinj — swimming stops in two coves, cliff jumping for the bold, dinner on board, and a sail home timed to the sunset.
  • Nights at family-run farmhouses and inns: multi-course dinners with wine from the owners’ own cellars, a visit to an ancient hilltop village for a farmhouse feast, and a final point-to-point run along Lake Bohinj before the closing dinner and awards in Ljubljana, Europe’s green capital city.

Ryan And Sarah Hall

About Your Hosts Ryan & Sara Hall

Ryan and Sara Hall are a legendary duo in the running world who blend elite achievement with a deep passion for global impact. Based in Flagstaff, Arizona, Between them, they’ve represented Team USA at the Olympics, set American records, and built a life that proves running can be both a calling and a catalyst for change.

Sara is a 10-time U.S. National Champion and one of the most versatile athletes in the sport’s history. Still competing at an elite level, she inspires runners to reimagine their potential through her philosophies. In 2026, Sara became the author of New York Times best seller For The Love of the Grind.

Ryan is a two-time Olympian and runner of one of the fastest marathons in American history. Since retiring from professional racing, he has channeled his expertise into coaching and strength training, offering a calm, analytical, and highly supportive presence to the runners he mentors.

Beyond the track, Ryan and Sara co-founded The Hall Steps Foundation in 2009, a nonprofit that fights global poverty through health, education, and opportunity—work that took on new meaning after they adopted their four daughters from Ethiopia in 2015. Their belief that running can be a force for good shapes everything they do, and the same generosity they bring to that mission is what they bring to the trail. Running alongside them isn’t just a chance to learn from two of America’s greatest distance runners—it’s an invitation into a life-long perspective on what the sport can mean.
